Plan early retirement—and life’s big moments. One question at a time.
FIRE stands for Financial Independence, Retire Early. Our FIRE Calculator gives a quick estimate of your financial independence target and age. FIRE Life Planner guides you through one question at a time and adds up to five scheduled life expenses, including repeated payments, to the same kind of expense-based plan.
Expenses before your target age are deducted from projected investments when they are due, including their effect on later growth. Expenses at or after that age are added to your goal as a separate reserve in today's dollars. The reserve is assumed to keep up with inflation, with no extra growth after inflation. An expense is not deducted and reserved twice.
Enter ongoing monthly income starting by your target FIRE age, such as part-time earnings, rent after property costs or a pension already paying. Exclude a salary that stops and withdrawals from the investments in this plan. Enter $0 if none or unsure. Income is assumed to continue and rise with inflation; benefits that start later are not modeled.
All main inputs and results use today's buying power. The model adjusts investment growth for inflation and fees. Results depend on the assumptions you enter and are not guarantees. It does not simulate retirement withdrawals, changing market returns, account-specific taxes or early-access rules. Include expected taxes and healthcare in your lifestyle budget and keep emergency savings separate.
